Pleasant Valley Elementary Talent Show

On Thursday, April 18, Pleasant Valley Elementary held its annual talent show – PV Idol. The evening featured student and staff performances and was fun for everyone in attendance.

For two hours, guests in the packed the Peters Township High School auditorium were treated to students who sang, danced, played the piano, told jokes and even showed off their basketball and pogo stick skills – all for a wonderful cause. All of the proceeds from the evening benefited the American Cancer Society.

Organized by a team of staff members led by teachers Sandy McWilliams and Barb Viola, this annual event showcases the giving nature of the Pleasant Valley families and staff. Student acts are voted on by cash donations placed in boxes created by the students for their act, and all money goes directly to the American Cancer Society.

In addition, donations to the Washington County Food Bank are also accepted and this year resulted in more than 800 pounds of food.

Since it began, PV Idol and Relay for Life team at Pleasant Valley have raised more than $80,000 for the cause. This year’s total was more than $10,500.
