PT boys, Lebo girls earn No. 2 seeds in WPIAL soccer playoffs
For the third year in a row, Peters Township (13-2) and Seneca Valley could meet in the finals of the WPIAL Quad-A boys soccer championship game as the Indians and the Raiders are seeded second and first respectively in the tournament.
The Raiders have beaten the Indians in the past two finals and are two-time state finalists. They will host Upper St. Clair (8-5-1) at 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in quarterfinal action.
The Indians also received a first-round bye and will commence their championship bid at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at home against Butler.
In the Quad-A girls bracket, Mt. Lebanon (12-2) received the No. 2 seed behind North Allegheny. While the Blue Devils host No. 7 Pine-Richland, the Tigers will entertain Bethel Park (10-4-2). Both first-round contests are set for at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27.
The PT girls (12-1-3) earned the No. 3 seed and will host Butler at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27.
Upper St. Clair (10-6) will travel to No. 4-seed Seneca Valley for a 6:30 p.m. kick off on Oct. 27.
The BP boys (11-3) are seeded No. 8 in Class AAA while South Fayette (8-3-3) is No. 7. Both teams earned home-field advantage for their first-round games, which were scheduled to be played at 2 p.m. Oct. 22.
The Lady Lions (9-3) earned the No. 8 seed and will host Franklin Regional at 6:30 p.m Oct. 24. The winner will face top-seeded Mars at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at a site to be determined.
The WPIAL championship games will be played Nov. 3-5 at Highmark Stadium.
