Peters Township boys’ golf wins 3
Peters Township picked up two more section victories in Section 7 boys’ golf when the Indians defeated Canon-McMillan, 194-236, and Chartiers Valley, 194-219.
In addition to improving to 7-1 in the division, the Indians raised their overall record to 11-2 with a win, 203-226, against Baldwin.
Christian Schreiber and Andrew Poon shot low score 38s to pace the Indians to victory against CV at the Club at Nevillewood in Presto. Parker Johnson and Ryan Marshall followed with 39s while Logan Shaw carded a 40.
Shaw, however, was low man along with Poon against C-M. Both shot 38s. Johnson and Schreiber carded 39s while Joe Pisarcik finished with a 40.
Leaders for the Big Macs were Jamie Rush (41), Grant Zeszutek (42) and Colin McKinney (46). Cameron Bunner and Jude O’Bryan also added to C-M’s score.
Zachary Clayton led the Colts with a 40. Andrew Windsheimer, Shane Bioni, Garrett Underwood and Logan Marnik also competed for CV.
Against Baldwin, Johnson and Marshall led the way with 36 and 40 scores. Schreiber and Shaw followed with 40s and Ellian Ascencio finished with a 43.
NOTES: The quest for the Class AAA boys’ individual title commences with semifinal action on Sept. 25 at the Youghiogheny Country Club and Hannastown Golf Club. Tee times start at 9 a.m.
The WPIAL Class AAA championships will be held Oct. 2 at Oakmont Country Club. Tee times start at 10 a.m.
The quest for the boys’ team title commences Oct. 9. The WPIAL team finals will be held Oct. 11 at the Cedarbrook Golf Course.
