Peters Township man dies in house fire

An elderly Peters Township man died early this morning as the result of a fire at his home. Robert Gary McLaughlin, 80, was removed from his Locust Drive home by firefighters at about 6:45 a.m., Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Canonsburg General Hospital. The cause and manner of his death are pending the results of an investigation by Peters Township police and the state police fire marshal.
