Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra presents “Firebird,” a concert to take place at 2 p.m. March 2 at Heinz Hall.

The Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Lawrence Loh continue the 2012-13 season of free Heinz Hall concerts with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (Eroica) originally intended as a dedication to Napolean Bonaparte.

Daniel Mallampalli, winner of the PYSO Conducting Competition and member of PYSO’s bass section, will lead his fellow members in Farandole from Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2. PYSO and Maestro Loh will finish the afternoon’s performance with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.

The concert is free, but tickets are required for admission. To download the tickets, visit www.pyso.us.
