Arrest made in Bridgeville thefts

Bridgeville police charged Phillip Acosta, 25, formerly of Bridgeville, with 17 counts of theft from a motor vehicle, 17 counts of receiving stolen property, 24 counts of criminal mischief and six counts of criminal attempt theft, borough police said.

Acosta was charged with a string of vehicle break-ins in January of 2012, during which time, police received 23 complaints of vehicle break-ins, police said.

Police obtained physical evidence from some of the scenes and Acosta was linked to these crimes through DNA profiling.
