Hillcrest holds first high school play
Hillcrest Christian Academy in Bethel Park recently held its first-ever high school play in the youth hall Jan. 18-19. The comedy, “Laffing Room Only,” written by Tim Kelly and directed by HCA’s Theater Arts teacher Ann Siverts, was performed by the students in her Theater Arts elective.
For the performance, the stage was transformed into Whispering Pines, a rundown hotel in Vermont destined to become ground-zero for a sting operation.
Hillcrest Christian Academy has a long-standing tradition in the fine arts. Every year, the school stages musical Christmas and spring programs as well as the annual Dickens Festival in April, where eighth-graders perform a work adapted from the work of Charles Dickens.
On March 8, HCA will hold a Dinner Auction, “Hard Hats and High Heels – a construction theme with ‘an elegant twist'” – at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe to raise funds to build additional classrooms this year.
