Try the Pittsburgh region’s finest craft beers at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s fourth annual Brews for a Chili Night, 6-8:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

All-inclusive tickets, $30, are on sale at the library’s front desk. Special donor tickets are available for $50.

All proceeds for the event, sponsored by the Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, will be donated to support books and programs at the library.

Chili will be provided by Café io, Gaucho in the Strip District and more than 20 volunteer chefs from the community. Desserts also will be available.

The event will feature music by the Retro Agents.

Tickets are limited and there are no plans to sell tickets the day of the event. For more information, call 412-417-5415.

Former Pittsburgh Steeler Justin Hartwig will be emceeing the Community Options, Inc.’s annual Cupid’s Chase National 5K Run on Feb. 8 on Pittsburgh’s North Shore. The OCA, Asian Pacific American Advocates will host its Year of the Horse Lunar New Year Banquet on Feb. 8 at the Syria Shriners Center in Cheswick. The annual event is open to the public and features a family-style 12-course Mandarin dinner.

Highlights of this year’s banquet include guest of honor Roberto Clemente Jr., traditional dances by OCA Youth Performance Ensamble, a performance by “American Idol” finalist Tim Urban and a traditional lion dance by Tzu Chi Academy.

Attire is festive and dressy. Tickets are $50-$65.

Washington City Mission’s 20th Annual Sweet Sunday takes place Feb. 9 at the Southpointe Hilton Garden Inn. Guests will enjoy an array of delicious desserts, entertainment and family activities. The third annual Celebrate Our Schools Gals will be held Feb. 22 at Valley Brook Country Club. The event is hosted by the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair, in partnership with the school district. Every dollar donated for the gala will go directly toward student classroom technology in the school district.

Tickets are $100 per person and include food, refreshments, music and live and silent auctions. Items in the auctions have a total value of more than $20,000. Last year’s gala raised $83,000 for the district.

The 30th annual Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race and Sporting Clays to benefit Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh (BVRS) will be held on Feb. 28 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Diann Roffe, an Olympic gold medalist in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, and a world champion ski competitor, will be featured at the Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race for both skiers and snow boarders starting at 10 a.m.

Individuals may compete without a team or attend the fun day and not compete.

During an afternoon flight that includes 100 targets, shooters participate in teams of five.

The Unmasking Fear, Building Hope masquerade ball hosted by the Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club on March 1 will raise funds for A Child’s Place at Mercy’s new Child Advocacy Center location in Washington County. The event takes place at Duquesne University’s Power Center Ballroom, and will feature Mardi Gras flair. The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will hold its eighth annual fundraising event JCC Big Night: Game On March 8 at the JCC in Squirrel Hill.

Put on your thinking cap! The Washington Rotary Club’s 12th Annual Rotary Charity Trivia Contest takes place 7 p.m. March 21 at the Three Rivers Auction House in Washington. Rotary will donate $1,000 to the charity of the winning team’s choice, $500 to the second place team’s charity and $250 to the third place team’s charity.

The event consists of 50 questions segmented into 10 categories of five questions each. All teams play simultaneously, with answers written on a notecard and scores tabulated by the quizmasters and scorekeepers. In between rounds, activities include door prize drawings and a raffle auction. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Teams must consist of a minimum of four people and a maximum of eight; team size is strictly enforced. The entry fee is $30 per team member and includes pizza, snacks and beverages. As space permits, spectators and cheerleaders are permitted to attend at $30 per person, and spectators and cheerleaders are not permitted to sit with teams during game-play.

To enter a team in the Charity Trivia Contest, send one check per team – with the team name noted in the memo – made payable to “Washington Rotary Club” in the amount of $30 per player and/or spectator to the Washington Rotary Club, c/o Kathy Sabol, 119 S. College St., Washington, PA 15301. Registration must include the email address and phone number for the team captain, team name and the name of the 501c3 non-profit charitable organization for which the team is playing. Teams must be registered by March 14. Due to the size of the facility, the number of teams is restricted to 35 and team registrations will be accepted in the order that they are paid in full. Washington County Community Foundation is raffling two Pittsburgh Penguins tickets for the April 12 game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Consol Energy Center. The game tickets, donated by Consol Energy, are in Section 110, Row R. Raffle tickets are $10 each. The winner will be determined by the first validated three-digit Pennsylvania Lottery number drawn at 7 p.m. March 28. If the number drawn on this date is an unsold ticket, the winner will be determined by the next day’s 7 p.m. drawing until a winner is determined.

Proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s Mother’s Fund, which supports programs that benefit disadvantaged women and children in Washington County.
