Hefren-Tillotson, Inc., one of western Pennsylvania’s largest independent investment advisory and financial planning firms, has added two new members to its board of directors – Executive Vice President Craig McRoberts and Senior Vice President Alfred D. Vallano.

McRoberts, a career Hefren-Tillotson employee since 1993, specializes in comprehensive financial planning for his clients via Hefren-Tillotson’s exclusive Masterplan approach. Instrumental in opening the firm’s South Hills Office in 1997, McRoberts earned his B.S. in finance from Pennsylvania State University. A resident of Peters Township, McRoberts also served as a board member of the March of Dimes and Jefferson Medical Center.

Vallano is the branch manager of Hefren-Tillotson’s Upper St. Clair office and has been an annual member of the company’s Chairman’s Club since 1999. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Vallano specializes in working with individuals with lump sum rollouts and retirement planning as well as small business owners focused on succession and complex business planning. A resident of Peters Township, he serves as vice chairman of the board of Family House.

The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) has appointed Crystal Sickles as its allocations and programs coordinator. Sickles will be responsible for the management of the WCCF’s allocation cycles, which include grants to charities and educational scholarships for students. She will also assist advisors to donor advised funds in recommending grants to the Board of Trustees.

Additionally, Sickles is responsible for the facilitation of community programs as approved by the Board. Her initial program focus will be to help qualifying 501(c)(3) charities prepare for WCCF Gives, a community-wide Day of Giving scheduled for Sept. 10.

An honors graduate of Charleroi High School, she earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and resides in Carnegie.
