South Fayette High School presents “Thoroughly Modern Millie” for its spring musical.
Performances take place 7:30 p.m. March 22 and 23, and 2:30 p.m. March 24.
The alumni of the past 20 years are invited to a reception in the high school commons after the Saturday night performance.
Tickets, which will be sold at the door prior to each performance, are $8 adults and $5 students/senior citizens/children. South Fayette Gold Card members are free.

The Butterfly Bandits will hold Happy Hour for a Cure to help raise money for thyroid cancer research.
The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. March 21 at Cain’s Saloon in Dormont.
LocaL, a Pittsburgh-based acoustic trio specializing in unique cover interpretations as well as original music, will entertain.
Join the Pirate Parrot for appetizers and desserts, a Chinese auction and mini massages and facials provided by Massage Envy.
A $15 donation is requested. Proceeds benefit thyroid cancer research – UPCI Multidisciplinary Thyroid Cancer Research Center and Butterfly Bandits patient education fund.
Producers Jude and Shirley Pohl announce that the first show of the 2013 season at the Crowne Plaza Cabaret Dinner Theatre in Bethel Park will be “Corey and Justin in A One Man Show,” which will be presented for a limited run of two performances on March 22 and 23.
The show is conceived, written, directed and performed by one man: Corey Nile Wingard and Justin Zeno. It promises to be a zany evening with some great songs and a lot of laughs. Both performances will be at 8 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30.
Dinner theatre package is $40 ($38 for seniors).

The Friends of the Hollywood Theater announce the following events at The Hollywood Theater in Dormont:
• Zombo Presents… returns at 8 p.m. March 22 with “Gumnaam,” a 1965 Indian suspense thriller film. Zombo, a DJ at WRCT-FM 88.3 radio, welcomes the world beat disco sounds of King Fez in the lobby at 8 p.m.; the movie starts at 9.
• “Mumia: Long Distance Revolutionary” – 7:30 p.m. March 21 and 23, and 7 p.m. March 24. The 2012 documentary chronicles the life and revolutionary times of death row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal. Philadelphia writer/journalist Linn Washington – who knew Mumia personally and is interviewed in the film – will appear at one of the showings to introduce the film and answer questions. Linn, a Pittsburgh native, is a professor of journalism at Temple University. The movie screens 7:30 p.m. March 21 and 23, and 7 p.m. March 24.
• “Bubba Ho-Tep” – 7:30 p.m. March 28, 9:15 p.m. March 29, 5 p.m. March 30, and 4 p.m. March 31. In this comedy/fantasy, Elvis and JFK are both alive and living in a nursing home. They must fight for the souls of their fellow residents against an ancient Egyptian mummy.
• “Leonie” – 7 p.m. March 29, 3 p.m. March 30, and 1 p.m. March 31. The life and relationships of early 20th American educator, editor and journalist Leonie Gilmour are chronicled in a drama/biography.
• Monthly Anime Series – “Dagger of Kamui,” 2 p.m. March 24.

Producers Jude and Shirley Pohl announce that Walt Maddox will return to their Crowne Plaza Cabaret Dinner Theatre with his one-man show, “Nat,” for a matinee performance on April 28.
NAT is Walt’s tribute to music legend Nat King Cole. He has presented this show both in the USA and around the world – including a performance with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at Heinz Hall.
The show will begin at 3:30 p.m. with dinner served at 5. Price of the dinner theatre package is $45, which includes both the tax and the tip.
The theatre is located at 164 Fort Couch Road in Bethel Park – directly across the street from South Hills Village Mall.

The Salvation Army and WTAE TV Channel 4’s Project Bundle-Up will host its fourth annual “Auction Kickoff Dinner – Night on the Town” beginning at 5 p.m. April 20 at LeMont Restaurant on Mt. Washington. Enjoy an elegant sit-down dinner with unparalleled views of the city and make a difference in the lives of needy seniors and children.
The evening’s festivities include live musical entertainment by Pittsburgh’s own Tom Watt, nationally acclaimed and award winning vocal impersonator; fun photos courtesy of “Beautiful Day Photo Booth;” a live basket auction with themed baskets of $250 plus value; a gift card auction extravaganza; and appearances by local celebrities.
Admission to the event is a donation of a new item(s) in its original packaging or a gift card with a minimum retail value of $100 per person. Monetary donations are also accepted. Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department will hold “Flapjacks and Quacks, Spring Trip to the Strip” on May 19 for adults age 18 and older.
Guests will board a Molly’s Trolley at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center and travel to Station Square, where they will enjoy Sunday brunch at the Grand Concourse before boarding a chartered ‘Just Ducky’ Tour Boat for a land and water tour of the city and its rivers. The boat tour will end in the Strip District. Free time is allotted for shopping in the Strip before boarding the trolley for the return trip to the Rec Center.
The trolley will depart the Rec Center at 9:30 a.m. and return around 3:30 p.m.
Fee is $75 per person. Register by April 30.

The Salvation Army will hold its 25th Annual Fabric Fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 6 at the South Park Home Economics Building. Sponsored by the organization’s Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary, the event will feature patterns, upholstery, fabric, yarns and notions at discount prices. “The Book of Mormon,” a musical writen by “South Park” creators Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone, runs March 26-April 7 at the Benedum Center. The show, presented by PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh, tells the story of two Utah teens and Mormon missionaries who are fed up with poverty, AIDS, and other horrors that they encounter while in Uganda, and begin questioning their faith. Hilarity and vulgarity ensue.

Friends of South Park will host Oldies Dance entitled, “Oldies in the Park’ from 7-11 p.m. March 23 at the Home Economics Building in South Park. The Friends of South Park is a citizens group focused on park betterment through volunteerism and advocacy who preserve the rich heritage and resources of South Park in Allegheny County by identifying and recommending the areas of the park which need improvement; and then working to acquire the cooperation, resources and funding to accomplish those improvements for the benefit of the park’s visitors.
